Country Rock,
Having said many times that Rock comes from the Real Black (R&B) music, I have to admit that Country music has a strong influence in Rock, the Country music has been within our Rock culture almost the same time the Blues have been around. In the earlier 20’s we can Find Hank Williams, even though a lot of Nashville musician will admit Mr. Hank is a legend, which I have no doubt, you will not hear a very good Guitar solo or an unbeatable riff, of course this was not common in those days, the Guitar solos came with the electric guitar years later, the remarkable of this gentleman was the fact he open the door for what was about to be born in the mid 50’s, The Rock N’ Roll. From each decade a true star came along, The country Rock brought to live in the 50’s Mr. Johnny Cash , in the 60’s a Living Legend came along, Mr. Robert Allen Zimmerman, most of us knows him as Bob Dylan, the 70’s brought Bruce Spreengsteen, ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd (originaly called the Nobel Five) I guess they had to change the name because of the Jackson Five, besides, can you image back in those days a group of white red necks having a similar name of 5 black kids, not so good, There are many, many Country Bands or Country singers, but Country Rock are a handful of them, perhaps no more than 50 good bands are around, among the rock community there are bands and singers that are heard and well respected and they will be herd for a long time, this past year, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan and ZZ Top were among the best 50 Rock Albums of 2012. Country Rock
Habiendo dicho muchísimas veces que el Rock N’ Roll tiene sus orígenes en el Blues o en el Rhythm & Blues, Tengo que admitir que la música Country (Música Folklórica de USA) ha aportado más que un grano de arena a este género y a estado presente casi el mismo tiempo que el Blues. A principio de los años 20 sobresale Hank Williams, aun cuando muchos músicos de Nashville admitan que el sr. Hank es una Leyenda, el cual no pongo en duda, en esos días no se escuchaban buenos solos de guitarra, claro en esos días los solos con instrumentos no eran comunes y la guitarra eléctrica llego años más tarde. Lo admirable de este Sr. Es que abrió la puerta para lo que se avecinaba mas tarde en los años 50, el Rock N’Roll. A prtir de los 50’s el country rock dio a conocer a Estrellas como Johnny Cash, la leyenda viviente Mr. Robert Allen Zimmerman en los 60’s mejor conocido como Bob Dylan, en los 70’s aparece Bruce Springsteen, ZZ Top y Lynyrd Skynyrd que originalmente se llamaban los Nobel Five, me imagino que se cambiaron el nombre debido a la similitud en el nombre de la banda de los Jackson Five, se imaginan en plena época de racismo una banda de Rockeros campesinos Blancos con nombre de una banda pop de Negros, no muy bueno para ese entonces. Aun cuando hay muchas bandas de Country Rock: buenas, respetadas y reconocidas solo son unas cuantas, dentro de la comunidad rockera hay bandas y cantantes de Country Rock respetados y que se escuchan bien y estarán entre nosotros por un buen tiempo, el año pasado 2012 Bruce Springsteen, ZZ top y Bob Dylan estuvieron entre los mejores 100 álbum de rock del año Espero les guste el video de ZZ Top grabado en 1980 interpretando jailhouse Rock de Elvis Presley Hasta mi próximo Riff escrito |
