Believe it or not, in Bolivia I have found a very active Rock community. Despite the 4200 mts. above sea level where El Alto is located, there are quite good bands, nice places to be and good location to be delighted with good Classic Rock.
In La Paz you can find the La Obertura café, I have been already in 48 hard Rock Café restaurants around the world and here in Bolivia I found myself hearing good Classics Rock in a place VERY well decorated and with impressive Rock memorabilia like or better than HRC, according to friends of mine the owner Mr.Sergio Calero is a Rock legend, I did not have the opportunity to chat with him but Indeed I spent a good time at his cafe. I had my doubts about the Rock bands in Bolivia and the quality of the rock they perform but then I heard groups like: Atajo, Lick stick which by the way they have a good tune just released, I am a Rock Star, opposite to Nickel back I wanna Be a Rock Star, La guardia, Konfession , Oz, Llegas and Krauss which have quite good rock. In Bolivia the boom of the rock started mid nineties early 2000’s even though you can find articles and rock people in Bolivia that assures that the first Rock and Roll Album in Latin America came out Bolivia in the late 50’s Today you can find a bit more than 100 Rock bands in Bolivia and some of them have to my humble opinion a world class performance. Aunque no lo crean en Bolivia he encontrado una comunidad Rockera muy activa. El Alto a pesar de encontrarse a 4200 mts. Sobre el nivel del mar, hay lugares muy agradables buenas bandas de Rock y Buenos Boliches (lugares donde se escucha música) donde se puede uno deleitar con Rock Clásico.
En La Paz me encontré con el café La Obertura, he estado en 48 restaurantes Hard Rock Café alrededor del mundo y me encontré este boliche Muy bien decorado con excelente memorabilia de Rock como cualquier restaurant HRC o mejor, según amigos míos el dueño el Sr. Sergio Calero es una legenda viviente del Rock, no tuve la portunidad de charlar con el pero definitivamente la pase de lo mejor en su café. Tenía mis dudas sobre el Rock en Bolivia pero después de escuchar bandas como Atajo, Lick stick que acaban de lanzar un sencillo muy bueno “ I am a Rock Star”, opuesta a Nickelback “I wanna Be a Rock Star”, La guardia, Konfession , Llegas y Krauss que tienen muy buen Rock cambiaron mi opinión. El boom del Rock en Bolivia comenzó a finales de los 90’s principios de los 2000, sin embargo es posible encontrar artículos o personas que defiendan que el primer Vinilo de rock que se grabo en Latino América se realizo en Bolivia a final de los 50’s Disfruten del video de Oz y algunas fotos de Bolivia.
